Monster designs are also girls in various states of undress, but it was amusing seeing things like the pirate gripping her scimitar or the spider hanging down from a web (both with their underwear riding down). What I liked most is that as you level them up and change classes they get new designs that are increasingly dramatic and powerful-looking, with things like Dark Lords and Valkyrie featuring huge wings at the back of their costumes or dark auras pulsing out of their swords. So the designs of the girls and Fried are brilliant – these are the wide-eyed anime designs that evoke somewhat of a nostalgic feel and are absolutely intricate in their detail, with tonnes of little flourishes to clothing and weapons which look great. Using the familiar anime artstyle of similar Aquaplus titles such as Utawarerumono , the graphics in Dungeon Travelers 2 are gorgeous and although they lose something when actually dungeon crawling, this is more than made up for elsewhere. So don’t go into Dungeon Travelers 2 expecting some remarkable story, but for what it is there’s a solid enough offering here with an interesting world that’ll keep you entertained while you trawl through endless labyrinths. I’m never really a fan of this level of lewdness, but it’s tolerable here and handled in a way that made me laugh rather than anything. Even the fanservice falls into the category of light-hearted comedy in the vein of “oh whoops I just tripped and all my clothes fell off” rather than the more extreme version found in other games like Criminal Girls. Part of this is because the humour is on point – Beard and Peggy constantly break the fourth wall and talk about the previous game ( ToHeart 2: Dungeon Travelers) as well as just the dungeon-crawling genre in general, such as conventions and why things like enemies always appear behind doors. There’s even lessons you can take in a classroom that reveal bits and pieces about where you are – it all feels surprisingly well thought out for what could otherwise come across as just another sleazy title. Perhaps the area Dungeon Travelers 2 excels most in is world-building – there’s all sorts to uncover here from the origins of the Royal Library to the Therians (talking animals) and their society. The game humorously explores this through the characters of Beard and Peggy, two notice adventuring Therians who you constantly bump into and provide various info about the land you’re in as well as hints and tips on how to progress. It’s very slice-of-life and mostly goes for ‘cute’ over everything else, but I enjoyed it well enough. With that said, it is more engaging than many of the fanservice-focused Vita titles I’ve played and I grew to like many of the characters (in spite of constantly finding them in compromising positions) who get fleshed-out back stories like Monica, the shopkeeper working overtime to pay off her debts or Lillian, the strange girl who constantly quotes the occult at you who has more to her than meets the eye. Under the instructions of Irina, Fried and his team are deployed to various areas around the kingdom to ensure that the demon god stays banished from this land and along the way help the local people solve their problems.Īs you can deduce from the above, there is an effort to tell a coherent story here but it’s painfully generic and basically just an excuse to have the male lead with a group of female characters fighting under him. Along the way he’s assisted by a variety of (female) companions (so basically a harem) including chief of the library Irina, his childhood friend and now powerful knight Alisia, helpful spellcaster Melvy and unhinged battleaxe Grishina. See, Fried is a Libra who works in the Royal Library and has the power to seal away monsters in books, which comes increasingly in handy as more and more creatures seem to be lurking in various locations around Vitoria. Years later, a series of events threaten to break the seals that keep the demon god locked away and it’s up to Fried Einhard to ensure this catastrophe doesn’t come to pass. DeveloperĪfter a war between humans and the demon god which left the latter sealed away, the kingdom of Vitoria existed in peace. Aquaplus and Sting deliver a by-the-numbers DRPG that focuses on heavy fanservice and tonnes of content, which has a few issues with basic missing features but manages to nail all the most important elements.

We ended with a 10-minute Shirodhara treatment, in which a steady stream of warm oil was applied to my forehead, an ancient technique for reducing stress. Honestly, I would have paid a lot for half an hour of doing it alone. This was the ritual that signaled the start of the treatment, and the physical vibrations from the gong were a small sonic bath that spread through my body in waves. As I lay prone on the table, Kubo started with a genius opening act: A heavy gong was placed on my back and struck. Finally, I was refreshed and alert, and the tension I was holding back in the back of my neck was relieved. Although that was not her intention, I took them as a physical manifestation of the verbal criticism I received from Ayurvedic therapists in India, so I immediately ie feel at home. She massaged my scalp with sharp, powerful movements followed by powerful, invigorating pats (aka smack). We started with the latter and it was the best 10 minutes of my session. My vata was high and dominant that day, so she chose sesame oil and grapeseed oil for my abhyanga and added the Shirodhara therapy with frankincense and a dry head massage. Furthermore, MP is limited until you start charging, and the main bottleneck is actions, meaning this character can be an effective Black Mage OR and effective White Mage, but won't do a good job at being both. In practice, both jobs are made of glass, and healers who die fast aren't very useful. On paper, it does make both attack spells and healing spells better. Okay, this is a combo I see a lot and I really don't like it. This won't be your fastest killing party, but it'll be a decent long-term survivable party for tough bosses. Put them in a party with a tank and a healer to keep the party hasted, then let them do a bit of damage with guns. Essentially, this is an armored Machinist who knows haste, or a Time Battlemage with a gun. Guns are underrated IMO, they do low base damage and don't scale with the character, but they also ignore armor, can't be blocked or parried, and have good elemental damage and special effect options in ammo. Good at buffing and healing with items, then plonking away at enemies with the gun when all buffs are cast. Set up gambits to heal themselves so they can save the main healer some MP for long fights. Cast Decoy on them when they are in the party and let them take hits. Knight and Monk get the mostly the same healing abilities, wastes some potential. Even more tankyness.Ĭan swap to Greatswords or Poles for excellent damage. Great for taking a hit.īoth Knight and Monk get some healing ability, so this character can in a pinch heal themselves too. Knights have heavy armor and shields - tons of defense. That said, it is not a requirement, and if you find yourself truly disliking any job, feel free to cut it. One final note in this section: I do advocate using all 12 jobs - it spreads out abilities among your party, means that better weapons that you find are always useful, and tends to lead to a more well rounded party. Many people here prefer the other two, and if one of those better appeals to you, you may wish to listen to their advice and ignore mine. Of the above, I personally use a mix of #2 and #4, that's what I find to be the most fun. What actually fits varies player-to-player.įor example, since Fran is shown to be magically inclined and wields a bow when she first joins the party, one might make her an Archer/Black Mage or Archer/Red Mage. Included for completeness, these are builds that ignore all of the above and are chosen because they fit the players view of the character. The Burning Bow increases damage with fire attacks, so this character would equip the burnign bow and cast powerful fire spells that get enhanced by the item There are certain combinations of gear that have powerful effects, and some build towards these.Ī classic example of this is the Archer/Black Mage. In this school of thought, you'd pair it with something more survivable os that your Black Mage can't be killed as easily. In this style, we look nto at what a job is good at, but rather at where the job lacks and pair them with a job that covers it.Įxample: The black mage is a fantastic damage dealer, but is a bit of a glass cannon - it goes down easy. So one might pair the Shikari with a heavy armor job like Knight, Uhlan, or Time Battlemage to increase their defense. Here we look at what one job is good at, and try to pair it with a job that enhances that strength further.Īn example might be: Shikari - When wielding a Dagger and Shield, the Shikari makes for an excellent "tank" type character, but they use light armor which increases health rather than heavy armor which increases defense. That said, there is certainly room for critique in your party, but before that, I want to establish that there are different schools of thought for party design. You don't have to optimize the party to finish the game, that's more something for speedunners or theory-crafters to worry about.įurthermore, it generally does not matter what character is given what job - there are some small variations in animation time for certain weapons or in starting stats, but overall these are too minor to worry about. You can beat the game with six white mages if you really want to. First thing to establish is that all job combinations are viable. They are much more friendly to one time scrapes. Get out of your Seamoth and go up the ramp, keeping your distance from the Cave Crawlers if possible. Once you get round to the front, you'll see that part of the ship has opened up into a kind of makeshift bay, with a metal section of floor rising out of the water. | Joel Franey/USGamer, Unknown Worlds Entertainment Getting into the Aurora begins with finding this fiery bay on the ship's nose. That's no problem though, you're going to get in through that opened exterior. The ship's nose - the bow - was destroyed in the crash. You're headed to the ship's front, despite the fact that the Aurora technically doesn't have one. There are scattered fragments and item boxes all the way along the boat, including the occasional piece of the rare Cyclops submarine, so keep an eye out for those and scan them if you feel you have the chance. Once you're in those shallows, start heading up towards the front of the ship. There are a few sand sharks in the area and there's a small chance of encountering a deadly leviathan reaper, but staying in the shallow waters close to the ship should ensure you only ever see either from a distance. You'll want to approach the ship from its left side, hugging the wall as close as possible. There’s also the possibility that such research could create a moral hazard, enabling polluting nations and companies to claim that they didn’t really need to cut emissions, because we could just dose the sky with billions of tons of sulfur dioxide. For decades, a consensus held that it wasn’t worth looking into the idea seriously because the potential side effects-acid rain, damage to the ozone layer, changes to weather patterns that could cause agricultural harm-could be as bad as the problem it was meant to solve. The notion of spraying chemicals in the atmosphere, known as stratospheric aerosol injection (SAI), is an old, controversial idea in climate science. Song pushes on with another questionable analogy: “If you’ve ever done a massive bong hit, it’s less-a bong hit is worse than what you’re going to inhale, in terms of the pain.” Iseman laughingly rejects the comparison. There’s no risk of toxic exposure, though, he says-the acidity of the chemical is akin to orange juice, he claims. He says they’re doing this indoors because the setup “doesn’t look great,” and because wind might blow away their sulfur smoke. Song helps when Iseman asks, but otherwise stands around. Iseman sits on the floor fitting tubing together with silicone tape. Earlier, Song had proposed burning popcorn in the hotel room to “mask the SO2 smell,” but the pair didn’t implement the idea. In sufficient concentrations, it’ll kill you. It forms sulfuric acid when it comes into contact with water, as it does in the eyes and the mucous membranes of the lungs. And today they’re trying out a new technique in the hotel room-a scaled-up version of something they had seen on YouTube-burning the sulfur-based fungicide, then sucking the resultant gas through tubing cooled with dry ice in order to precipitate liquid SO2 into the pressure cooker. Iseman and Song haven’t yet arranged for a chemicals company to supply them with SO2, so they are making it themselves. In the upper atmosphere, SO2-a chemical found in airplane exhaust and ejected by volcanoes-bounces solar radiation back into space, part of the reason global temperatures can drop in the aftermath of some volcanic eruptions. Iseman and Song intend to put a few grams of sulfur dioxide (SO2) into their helium weather balloons. The penumbra will cause a partial eclipse visible from a much larger area even the extreme West of Europe will get to see a low magnitude partial eclipse. It will be around 115 km wide in the case of this eclipse. Totality is only seen from a thin path across the globe, where the umbra touches the surface of our planet. The first partial phase happens between contacts 1 and 2 (C1 and C2), totality happens between contacts 2 and 3 (C2 and C3) and then we have another partial phase between contacts 3 and 4 (C3 and C4), when the eclipse ends. Phases of the eclipseĪ total solar eclipse has two phases: a partial and a total one. Otherwise, we have an annular solar eclipse, when a thin ring of the Sun is still visible around the dark disk of the Moon. We also need the Moon to be close to perigee so that it covers the whole disk of the Sun and allows the magnificent corona to be visible. (If we have a Full Moon close to the nodes, we get a lunar eclipse.)īut this is not the only condition needed. So, we need the New Moon to happen close to one of the nodes in order to have a solar eclipse. The points where the orbit of the Moon and the Ecliptic intersect are called lunar nodes. This doesn’t happen at every New Moon, as the orbit of the Moon is inclined at an angle of around 5 degrees to the Ecliptic. If anyone still has doubts, a total solar eclipse occurs when the Moon gets between the Sun and Earth and manages to fully cover the disk of our beloved star. Let’s see what we can do… The solar eclipseįirst of all, let’s talk a bit about the eclipse. And, of course, we want to take photos of it. The shadow of the Moon will sweep across the United States of America, from Oregon to South Carolina. On August 21 2017, we will witness what was dubbed “The Great American Eclipse”. We are less than a lunation away of probably the most advertised total solar eclipse in history. A total solar eclipse has two main phases: a partial and a total one. Storyspace is best known as the tool of choice for serious hypertext writers. Because writers can add, link, and reorganize by moving writing spaces on the map, Storyspace encourages creative exploration and flexibility. The unique and powerful Storyspace map shows each hypertext writing space and each of its links. Storyspace excels at creating rich hypertext structures. Additional reading environments for the Web and for Windows are anticipated as well. A redistributable stand-alone reader is included. Storyspace 3 is available for Macintosh computers and runs on macOS Catalina, High Sierra, and other recent operating systems. Storyspace focuses on the process of writing, making it easy and pleasant to link, revise, and reorganize. Storyspace 3 is a hypertext writing environment that is especially well suited to large, complex, and challenging hypertexts. Sculptural hypertext encourages painterly narrative in which the writer controls what she knows to be necessary while relaxing control over the reader when control might not be needed. But Storyspace hypertexts aren’t just random: writers can remove links and enforce constraints so the hypertext organizes itself. Sculptural hypertext begins with densely linked bundles like decks of cards, from which the reader might select pages in any sequence. Storyspace 3 adds sculptural hypertext tools as well. Sculptural Hypertextįamiliar hypertext tools support calligraphic hypertext, hypertext that begins without links and lets the writer link things that should be connected. You can mix old and new guard fields freely. Storyspace 3 supports classic Storyspace guard fields and extends them with a new, easy-to-learn syntax that adds lots of power and flexibility. Storyspace solved the problem back in the 1990s with guard fields that activate and disable links as the reader moves through the document. The use of Hydrogen Peroxide as a bio-oxidative therapy is highly controversial and we cannot endorse it. H 2O 2 can also be stored in glass but we advise against glass containers due to safety concerns. Our H 2O 2 is supplied in HDPE bottles which are BPA free. Although heat will speed up the decomposition process, it should not to be stored in a refrigerator if children in your household have access to it. Your H 2O 2 should be stored in its original packaging, in a cool, dry, well ventilated place away from the reach of children. The Hydrogen Peroxide will react upon contact with many contaminants and release oxygen, weakening the solution. You should also be careful not to allow any particles to contaminate your H 2O 2. Technical and industrial grade H 2O 2 products contain stabilisers which slow this process. Our H 2O 2 products are un-stabilised (as in needed for human use) which means that it will most readily break down into more stable molecules of water (H 2O) and oxygen (O 2). Heat and light will dramatically speed up the decomposition process. The rate of H 2O 2 decomposition into water and oxygen is variable because of a number of factors. » Dilution Ratios from 12% H 2O 2ġ part 12% Hydrogen Peroxide » Hydrogen Peroxide Storage and Decomposition If contact occurs flush away with plenty of water. When diluting Hydrogen Peroxide you should Īlways use a clean and sterile glass or pyrex measuring jug. They are relatively cheap and easy to use. TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) meters test the electrical conductivity of the water, giving you a good indication of the purity of the water. If you have your own water purifier you can buy a handy piece of kit called a TDS meter. Bottled water also contains minerals which causes H 2O 2 to react. To prevent this you must use only pure water. As tap water contains a cocktail of complex chemicals and minerals, it causes H 2O 2 to react with those substances. Distilled water is ultra pure and is free of other substances that the H 2O 2 can react with. » Hydrogen Peroxide DilutionĪs H 2O 2 is very keen to react with anything it comes into contact with, it is important that you dilute it with distilled water only. Our H 2O 2 is provided in the purest form, without any chemical additives. The only grade that can be used safely for personal/home use is known as 'Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide' This is true for most grades of Hydrogen Peroxide. Electrical grade for example contains added chemical stabilisers to prevent it from decomposing. Hydrogen Peroxide is available in many grades, all designed for different applications. Hydrogen Peroxide’s powerful oxidising properties give it a wide application of uses including industrial, commercial, natural, military and scientific purposes. This is one of the natural processes that cleanses our atmosphere. Hydrogen Peroxide is produced naturally in the atmosphere when Ozone (O 3) is struck by ultra-violet light in the presence of water vapour and falls to the earth as rain. Oxygen is released as a single atom.įree oxygen atoms are intensely reactive and will preferentially react with another free oxygen atom to give an oxygen molecule (O 2).Įssentially, the by products of Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide are water and oxygen, making it a safe, non toxic alternative for a variety of home, garden and personal uses. Hydrogen Peroxide is highly reactive and easily breaks down into water (H 2O) and oxygen (O). This extra oxygen atom is what gives Hydrogen Peroxide its wide range of uses. In a simple way, it is very similar to water (H 2O) but with an extra oxygen atom. Keep container tightly closed.Hydrogen Peroxide is a simple substance with a molecule comprising of two hydrogen (H) atoms and two oxygen (O) atoms.
